Assam Police Seizes Narcotics : Breaks the Backbone of Illegal Drug Trafficking

The Assam government continues to dissolve several narcotic consignments in crores under the leadership of Honorable CM of Assam and continues to reinforce its commitment to a drug free state through decisive enforcement measures.

Karbi Anglong Police seized over 10kg of morphine worth 11 Crore while Sadiya and Bongaigaon police intercepted heroin and ganja consignments leading to multiple arrests. In a parallel action a massive consignment of illegal cough syrup valued nearly 3 crore was intercepted further crippling the supply chain of traffickers.

These actions form part of the state’s ongoing “AssamAgainstDrugs” campaign with CM Himanta sarma commending the forces for their resolve to break the network of unauthorized drug supply, reaffirming a zero tolerance stance with illegal drug traffickers.
